🌈 REIGNBOW™️ PROGRAM FAQs

  • In the Reignbow™️ program, gymnasts move up through levels by mastering Required Skills and achieving 3-star ratings. Instructors regularly assess progress and provide invitations to move up when students are ready. Each gymnast progresses at their own pace, ensuring personalized attention and skill development.

  • The specific skills your gymnast will learn in class will depend on their current level within the Reignbow™️ program. Our instructors follow a carefully designed curriculum that introduces and teaches skills appropriate for each level of gymnastics.

At the introductory levels, your gymnast will focus on building fundamental skills and techniques that form the basis for more advanced moves. These skills may include basic tumbling exercises, balance positions on the beam, introductory bar movements, and basic vault techniques.

As your gymnast progresses to higher levels, they will learn more complex skills tailored to each apparatus.

Our goal is to provide a well-rounded gymnastics education that fosters physical development, strength, flexibility, coordination, and discipline while ensuring a fun and safe learning environment.

If you would like more detailed information about the specific skills taught at your gymnast's level or have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact our coaching staff or front desk. They will be happy to provide you with more insights into the curriculum and your child's gymnastics journey.

  • The timing of when your gymnast will move up to the next level depends on various factors, including their individual progress, skill mastery, and consistency in performance. Each gymnast develops at their own pace, so there is no fixed timeline for advancement.

It's important to remember that learning gymnastics is a journey that requires time, dedication, and practice. Some gymnasts may progress more quickly, while others may take longer to master certain skills. Our coaches closely monitor your gymnast's development and will make the decision to advance them to the next level when they are fully prepared.

If you have specific questions about your gymnast's progress or the criteria for level mobility, we encourage you to reach out to the coaching staff. They can provide personalized insights into your child's development and offer guidance on the next steps in their gymnastics journey.

⭐️ online star chart FAQs

  • After logging into your Customer Portal account, you will navigate to the MY ACCOUNT section. From the "Your Students" list, you can click on the "Evaluations" button to view Skills information related to that student. After clicking on "Evaluations", you will be taken to a list of skills which the student has been evaluated for. First is the name of the Skill Tree, then the Event, the Level, and finally, the Skill itself. Once you click on the skill, you will be able to review the rating and any comments and/or associated URLs saved with the evaluation.

  • When a coach believes that an athlete is prepared to advance to a higher level, they will request an evaluation through the front office. Subsequently, the gymnast will undergo an evaluation conducted by the Program Director to assess their suitability for level advancement. It's important to note that undergoing an evaluation does not guarantee a change in level; the final decision regarding level mobility remains at the discretion of the Program Director.

During each evaluation, the gymnast will be assessed for proficiency in all skills at their current level. Upon completion of the evaluation, their Star Chart will be promptly updated to reflect their performance and progress

  • If you don't see any stars for your gymnast on the Star Chart, it could mean they are new to the program, still learning the skills, or focusing on foundational elements. Coaches may be introducing skills before formal assessments. Remember, progress varies for each gymnast, and communication with coaches can provide more insights into your athlete's development. Keep encouraging your athlete to practice and enjoy their gymnastics journey.

  • The Star Chart is used to track gymnasts' progress and skill development. The chart includes some bolded skills, which are the same set of skills but serve different purposes in terms of progression.

Gymnasts can receive 1 to 3-star ratings on all skills based on their performance.

    · 1-star rating: The gymnast has been introduced to the skill and is still in the process of learning it. They may not yet perform it consistently or with precision.

    · 2-star rating: The gymnast can perform the skill, but it requires more consistency and attention to detail. This indicates that the gymnast has a basic understanding of the skill but may need further practice to execute it consistently.

    · 3-star rating: The gymnast can consistently perform the skill successfully, with little to no error. This level of proficiency shows that the gymnast has fully mastered the skill and can execute it reliably.

Required Skills: These skills are tracked for mastery, which is denoted by an asterisk. These are specific skills that are mandatory for moving up to the next level. To be eligible for level mobility, the gymnast must achieve a 3-star rating on all mandatory skills. In other words, they must master these skills with consistent and successful execution

Introductory/Prep Skills: These skills are also scored on the 3-star system. However, they are not tracked for mastery. Instead, they are intended to prepare students for learning more advanced skills that may be mandatory at their next level. These skills are essential for building a strong foundation in gymnastics. To be eligible for level mobility, the gymnast must achieve 2 to 3-star ratings on introductory/prep skills. A gymnast will not be eligible for mobility if there are more than 4 introductory/prep skills with a 2-star rating.

By achieving 3-star ratings on all required skills and demonstrating proficiency (2 to 3-star ratings) on all other skills, gymnasts indicate their readiness to move up to higher levels within the recreational gymnastics program. This system provides clear guidelines for both instructors and gymnasts to monitor progress and determine when advancement to the next level is appropriate.

Required skills serve as prerequisites for higher levels, and therefore, must be maintained to remain at the current level. Gymnasts are expected to consistently demonstrate proficiency in these mandatory skills to ensure they are well-prepared for progression to the next level within the recreational gymnastics program.
